This
division is headquartered in Manassas, Virginia and supported by technical
and administrative staff located throughout the Company. They are
responsible for providing a wide range of technical and professional
services related to the design, installation and customization of
Electronic Security and Fire Alarm Systems for government and private
industry. Lord & Company is a distributor for ENSEC products,
a high-end manufacturer of electronic security hardware and software
systems. The functional areas, capabilities and target systems of
this division are:
Design
of Fire Alarm and Security Systems includes site surveys
and conferences to determine needs and obtain the data upon which
to develop a design; the preparation of preliminary concept sketches,
layout plans and preliminary cost estimates; the preparation of
final designs, Auto-CAD generated drawings; hardware and software
specifications; detailed cost estimates; and implementation schedules.
Fabrication
and Interconnection of Components includes fabrication
of panels and control consoles, purchases of components and subsystems
and electronic systems integration; fabrication of cabling and all
components needed; quality assurance inspection and modifications
to design drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
Software
Implementation includes highly customized applications,
programming and configuration to meet specific client requirements;
testing of software on both development system and target hardware;
documentation and all information required to maintain the system.
System
Validation includes assembling all electronic hardware
in a laboratory environment and providing temporary cabling for
system energization; downloading of all software into target hardware;
interconnection of target system for test and simulation to confirm
appropriateness of software/hardware functionality and demonstrations
of operational features and general system operations.
System
Installation and Commissioning includes installation
of new hardware and cabling with appropriate interconnections to
field devices; initial energization and confirmation of proper operation
of newly installed hardware; checkout of affected subsystems for
proper operation; system level checkout and tests throughout the
facility's; complete documentation of the new system and operator
training.
