The following is a representative
list of current or recent LORD & COMPANY projects.
- IBM Semiconductor
Plant - Manufacturing SCADA System
LORD & COMPANY provided all upgrade
to a site wide alarm and monitor system at IBM's semiconductor manufacturing
facility in Manassas, Virginia.
- IBM - Process
Management and Control System for RODI Water Plant
LORD & COMPANY provided a SCADA system
for the monitoring and control of an ultra high purity de-ionized
water production plant.
- Triple
Redundant Class 10 Clean Room Controls - Semiconductor Manufacturing
LORD & COMPANY designed and installed
a triple redundant microprocessor-based control system using programmable
logic controllers for Class 10 clean process manufacturing facility
for IBM Corporation.
- Parris Island MCRD, Beaufort, SC – WWTP, Lift
Stations and Energy Plant
Designed, tested, installed and commissioned a new SCADA System with
forty-six (46) Allen-Bradley PLC based remote terminal units, three
SCADA Workstation Computers, Instrumentation and Control for the WWTP
and Energy Plant, Rockwell Automation RSView32 was utilized for the
HMI SCADA system software. Johnson VHF Data radio was utilized for
the Master and Remote radios.
- Marine Corp Air Station, Beaufort, SC – MCAS WWTP,
Laurel Bay WWTP and Lift Stations
Designed, tested, and commissioned a new SCADA System with nine
(9) Modicon PLC based remote terminal units, two (2) HMI SCADA
Workstation Computers and one (1) Workstation with customized
WWTP report software for the lab. The Wonderware Intouch HMI SCADA
software, five (5) RTU’s with radio communications and four
(4) RTU’s with fiber optic communication were factory staged
by Lord & Company, Inc. in Fort Mill, SC to assure proper
operation prior to shipment. The System utilized spread spectrum
radios by Microwave Data Systems “MDS” and fiber optic
communications for remote and local PLC’s, I/O interfaces,
and new SCADA Workstation Computer at Laurel Bay WWTP, communications
with a SCADA Workstation Computer at the Marine Corp Air Station
WWTP via a MDS spread spectrum radio repeater (also designed,
supplied, and installed by L&C) and remote dialup access from
a notebook computer. The System included a Remote Alarm Display
Panel for indication of system status at the Heating Plant at
the MCAS and automatic pacing for chemical feed. An existing Computer
Workstation for the potable water system was upgraded for all
the additional applications of the new system at both WWTP’s.
Maintenance and operator training were all performed by L&C.
The Owner has been so pleased with our training that they have
contracted us several times over the last three years for additional
training of new personnel.
- City of Chattanooga, Tennessee – Wastewater Lift
Stations, CSO Facilities & WWTP
Ongoing System additions and service contract for the City’s
Motorola MOSCAD System with Wonderware Intouch as the HMI. Other
work includes many contracts from 1998 to the present for I&C
Systems for the City’s large lift stations and CSO Facilities.
The City has standardized on GE-Fanuc 90-30, Model 352 CPU for the
large Lift Stations and CSO Facilities. The SCADA System has grown
to over 100 Motorola MOSCAD RTU’s, all on a 800 MHz Truck
System. L&C has provided the SCADA System and I&C for three
of the City’s CSO Facilities and numerous lift stations.
- City of Greensboro, NC – Mitchell Filter Plant &
Distribution System
Ongoing System additions and professional services contract for
SCADA System including four Wonderware Intouch HMI Workstations
at Mitchell Filter Plant with GE-Fanuc PLC’s and two Wonderware
Intouch HMI Workstations at Townsend Water Treatment Plant with
Modicon PLC’s. Work includes maintaining all additions
to the City’s SQL database for data connectivity to the city’s
Wide Area Network (WAN). Supplied various RTU’s and additions
as required for Raw Water Pumping and Water Distribution sites.
- York County, SC – York County Water and Sewer
Designed, installed, and startup SCADA system to include 18 sites
with expandability to 100 remote sites. The RS-View 32 SCADA software
and the RTU’s were factory staged by Lord & Company, Inc.
at our Fort Mill facility to assure proper operation prior to shipment.
Rockwell RS-View 32 software was used to control and monitor countywide
SCADA system to include water and wastewater collection. Allen-Bradley
SLC 5/03 processors were used for each master site an headquarters.
Micro-Logix 1500 PLC’s were used for each remote. The communication
network consisted of two 900 MHz MAS licensed radio frequencies
with multiple remotes on each.
- Graham, NC – Graham/Mebane WTP Upgrade
Designed and installed instrumentation and Controls to a major upgrade
at the WTP which includes multiple PLC control panels and RSView32
HMI for control and monitoring. The RSView32 SCADA software and
the PLC’s were factory staged by Lord & Company, Inc.
at our facility to assure proper operation prior to shipment. The
Local Control Panels and PLC’s at each building were connected
via a fiber Ethernet 10mb network.
- Salisbury, NC – Salisbury WTP SCADA System
Designed, installed and programmed SCADA system to control and monitor
26 remotes to ensure water quality throughout the distribution and
Water Treatment Plant. The Intellution HMI SCADA consist of 6 workstations
with Hot-Standby servers. Software and the RTU’s and BPS Control
Panels were factory staged by Lord & Company, Inc. at our facility
to assure proper operation prior to shipment. The System included
Motorola MOSCAD RTU’s with 800 MHz radios and fiber optic
communications for inplant network, remote and local PLC’s,
I/O interfaces, and new SCADA Workstation.
