• Tuckaseigee Water & Sewerage Authority WTP Cullowhee, NC

The SCADA system Lord & Company provided consists of Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC’s and Dell computers with Rockwell Automation’s RSView SE HMI software.  The new phone system Lord & Company provided is an Altigen MAX2000-A1 with VOIP and POE functionality.  A surveillance system was installed using one pole mounted outdoor Axis 214 PTZ Network Camera 18X, 8 indoor and 2 outdoor mounted static Axis 211A Network Cameras.  The new SCADA system duplicates the functionality of an existing Autocon/Wonderware system that provides monitoring and control of local equipment and remote well sites.  A WIFI network of Cisco WAP54G Network AP’s allows operators to roam the entire site with a Fujitsu Mobile Tablet PC while accessing the plant SCADA systems monitoring and control capabilities.  Rosemount 5402 radar level transmitters and 3051 pressure transmitters with built in HART communication are used to monitor conditions in the Chemical Feed Building.  All SCADA equipment including PLC’s, SCADA, phone system and security cameras are networked together via an Ethernet network with including 12-fiber optic cable by Corning.  The system was brought online in September of 2010.

• Stewarts Creek Outfall Replacement City of Monroe, Monroe, NC

Lord & Company will be supplying the field instruments and a PLC based Pump Station Control Panel on the project.  L&C is supplying pressure transmitters, temperature transmitter, intrusion switches, ultrasonic level transmitters and other instruments for this pump station.  The PSCP will be an Allen Bradley CompactLogix with OIT.  The PLC Control Panel will provide an automatic control system to include OIT and auto-dialer for alarms.

• Jackson County, NC – Holly Hills MCEWSI, Jackson County, NC

Lord & Company installed new Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s) with antenna and hardware including 400MHz radios in two locations.  L&C utilized Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC as the control system hardware platform.  The Holly Hills Booster Pump Station control panel has a A-B PanelView Plus OIT.  A physical radio path study was performed to verify communications between the pump station, valve pit, and the WTP master RTU.  The outdoor RTU equipment was installed in NEMA 4X SS enclosures and the indoor equipment at the pump station in NEMA 12.  Points monitored include Pump runtime, VFD Failure, Tank Level and Water Flow.  Valve position is monitored.  Remote control of the pump and valve position is provided via the radio system.  A Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter provides tank level at the pump station.  The existing SCADA system was modified to poll the pump station and valve pit, log data, and display pump station and valve status and alarms.
